Personally, I have worked with women going through allopathic cancer treatment, and seen first-hand how acupuncture can help support before, during and after the treatments. Whether it's to reduce pain from either surgery or radiation treatments, or to reduce nausea from chemotherapy, or to improve mobility and range of motion afterwards from any impacted connective issue, many women have reported that the acupuncture treatments really helped. We also tend to work on the nervous system and emotional level. For example, there is often stress & anxiety that accompanies a cancer diagnosis. There is often grief as well, whether it's loss of a part of themselves in the physical sense (ie a mastectomy) or in the sense of a loss of identity that she may feel after this diagnosis and the change in brings.
In some cases I even do home visits with my cancer care patients, as often there is enough appointments in their lives when going through cancer care treatments. If you know someone who may be interested in discussing these treatments in further detail, you can contact me here.
